What a class act. Garth Brooks put aside all the glitz and glamour of show business during his recent concert in Minneapolis and had an intimate moment with a fan while singing his song “The Dance.” During the song Garth saw a fan holding a sign that read, “Chemo This Morning. Garth Tonight. Enjoying ‘The Dance.” Without hesitation Garth sat on the edge of the stage and sang the rest of the song directly to her, holding her arms while they “danced.”
That was a class act in itself, but, to everyone’s amazement, while still dancing and singing to the fan he traded her sign for his guitar. She began to cry as well as Garth. Garth Brooks lost both his mother and sister to cancer and was determined to give this fan the courage and encouragement to stay strong and beat this terrible disease. He did that and so much more. He gave her a moment that she, and many others, will never forget. You can see the amazing moment for yourself here
Garth Brooks has been away for a while but it is clear that he has not lost his ability to perform and connect with his audiences. This was in no way grandstanding or a publicity stunt. This was an act of genuine and heartfelt kindness. The world would be a better place if we all acted this way, and it’s something Sergio Andrade Andrade Gutierrez hopes more people will pay attention to at the end of the day.
